Category B2
B2 Avionica (Aviation Electronics for all Aircraft, Planes and Helicopters)
Line maintenance category B2 (avionics) is applicable to large and small aircraft and is not divided into subcategories.
B2L Category
B2L Avionics: Limited to the applicable system (radio systems, navigation systems, etc.).
Category B3
B3 Aircraft with non-pressurized piston engine of 2000 kg MTOM or less.
Examination format
Examination (online or paper), which must meet the following requirements:
- Each multi-choice question must have three alternative answers, of which only one will be correct, and the candidate must be given a time to complete each module based on an average of 75 seconds per question.
- The pass mark for each multi-answer question part of the module and sub-module examination is 75%.
- Penalty scores should not be used (negative points for failed questions)
- Each developmental question requires the writing of a written answer, and the candidate should be allowed 20 minutes for each question.
- The pass mark for each development question is 75%; the candidate's answer must contain at least 75% of the required key points and must not make any significant errors in respect of any key points.
- The development questions must be written and assessed following the knowledge syllabus of modules 7A, 7B, 9A, 9B and 10 of Appendix I.
- If one of the parts of the examination (the multi-choice questions or the essay questions) is failed, it is only necessary to retake the failed part of the examination.
- There will be no access to the texts during the examination.

- Age: The minimum age to apply for a Part 66 license is 18 years (date of entry of the application in the appropriate Register). The necessary knowledge and experience can be acquired beforehand).

There are 12 modules for Cat. B1.3. There are 13 multiple-choice exams (one for each module) and 2 short developmental exams for module M7).
You may attend just one or a few modules or the entire package. All certificates issued by Part 147 approved organizations are mutually recognized and accepted equally.
Your second attempt may not be made before 90 days after your first attempt.
The training courses and examinations shall be conducted within 10 years prior to the application for the aircraft maintenance license or the addition of a category or subcategory to such license.
